In the early 1900s, architects like Le Corbusier and Mies Van Der Rohe were prominent figures of the functionalist movement, focusing on efficiency and practicality while rejecting unnecessary decoration. This chair collection embodies a functionalist approach—tall and austere, unadorned and rational. It represents the simplest and most minimalistic chair: devoid of design, where form follows function. I am captivated by the manipulation of metal in industry, whether through bending, welding, or punching. The challenge in this new design is to explore the aesthetic possibilities provided by industrial techniques, merging them with a concern for finesse and creativity, to create a chair that blends the rigor of industrial production with the elegance of craftsmanship.
